ART
I've often thought about adding some different directions to this blog....like over-thought, under-thought, and of course thought all around the idea of giving it a third, fourth, or heck even fifth dimension. A space for my clients to enjoy their photos is so important to me, but I also think it's important to provide a space that tells your clientele MORE than just, HEY this is what my WORK looks like. I think it's important to provide a HEY this is what my WORK, my PLAY, my ART, my FUN and my LIFE look like too!
Then, just as I'm spinning in a field in front of the swiss alps singing the hills are ALIIIVE ... thinking."best idea i've ever had, for sure, by far!!".... I STOP and ROLL myself into an itty bitty insecure ball in the corner and I continue to THINK small, unimportant, insecure thoughts...what if this is just ANOTHER blog? i'm just ANOTHER photographer? oh your FRIEND does this too? and can someone please get me out of the proverbial DOUG closet where everyone is wearing the same outfit everyday doing the same work and having the same thoughts? The truth of it is, with technology the way that it is "main-stream" just became "main-amazon-river"... with access to digital photography, blogspheres, and creative inspiration out the wahoo (thnku pinterest) ANYONE can be.......well......meee? (not in like a "trend-settaaaaaa!!" sense, but in like a "my parents always told me i was unique and different, you're telling me i'm just like everyone else??" kind of way "not only am i like everyone else, but i'm coming AFTER everyone else?"kind of way.....you get it.)
Sure does start to make the starving artist in me want to turn into a SUPER type-A, organized, calendar aficionado with ironed clothes and perfect hair....(which i see nothing wrong with except that it would go against every grain in my being)
And just as I'm throwing in the towel, getting an Ann Taylor Loft card, and signing up for Container Store emails SOMETHING in me keeps saying... there's plenty of room in this over-saturated market for ONE more right?
Well i saw this quote by Andy Warhol...can we just have a moment for who HE was. is. and always will be??...and i thought. no more thinking. Just do. and be. and when everyone else is busy making decisions, i'll be here. Making art.
